DHARAMSALA, 19 Sept: Around 500 Tibetans gathered today at Basket Ground Court near Ganchen Kyishong, the headquarters of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), to appeal to the 17th Tibetan Parliament in Exile (TPiE) for amendments to the Charter of Tibetans in exile.

DHARAMSALA, 18 Sept: The Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, has extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to India’s Prime Minister as he turns 73, hoping for many joyful years ahead for the esteemed leader. In a missive addressed to Prime Minister Modi, the Dalai Lama commended India’s successful presidency of the G20, culminating in a summit focused on the theme ‘Vasudhaiv Kutambakam—One Earth, One Family, One Future’.

DHARAMSALA, 13 Sept: The inaugural Indo-Tibetan Youth Meet took place at Bharat Matha Degree College in Koppa, Karnataka on Monday. Around 180 students from eight different local Tibetan and Indian schools participated in this significant event.

DHARAMSALA, 12 Sept: His Holiness the Dalai Lama has expressed profound sorrow and offered condolences to Morocco following the catastrophic earthquake that resulted in a significant loss of life, as well as extensive damage to property and infrastructure. His message of empathy was conveyed in a formal letter addressed to His Excellency, the Prime Minister of Morocco.

DHARAMSALA, 11 Sept: Thupten Chonyi, a Tibetan Independence (Rangzen) activist, marked the sixth month of his one-year solo protest against China’s occupation of Tibet in front of Philadelphia’s Independence Hall in the US. Chonyi commenced his protest on March 10 this year, with plans to conclude it on March 10 next year, committing to a one-year protest advocating for Tibet’s independence and raising awareness of Tibet’s independent past.
