Tibetans continued to face discrimination and restrictions on basic freedom: Amnesty International Report 2014/15

DHARAMSALA, Feb 27: In the year 2014, Tibetans continued to face discrimination and restrictions on their rights to freedoms of religious belief, expression, association and assembly amid continued self-immolations, Amnesty International said in its annual report 2014/15 documenting the state of human rights in 160 countries.

Himachal Pradesh not to evict bonafide Tibetans

[TNN] SHIMLA, Feb 26: Following Himachal Pradesh government’s decision not to allow regularization of illegal encroachment of land by Tibetans in the state, now the government has decided not to disturb land under the occupation of Tibetan bonafide settlers. In case of court order requiring them to evict the land, the government would then relocate them by providing fresh land of equal or larger size.

New Office of Tibet for South America to be established in Brazil

DHARAMSALA, Feb 25: A new Office of Tibet will be established in Brazil for South America with Mr Tsewang Phuntso, the current Liaison officer for Latin America as the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the new office, announced the Central Tibetan Administration on Feb 24 on its website Tibet.net citing a notification from the Kashag Secretariat.
