DHARAMSALA, 11 April: A manual, containing a list of 10 rules, including the ban on displaying the Dalai Lama’s photo in the event of his demise, has been distributed in monasteries in the Amdo region of Tibet by Chinese authorities, reported the RFA on 9 April.

DHARAMSALA, 10 April: Luktsang Palyon, a popular Tibetan-language blog in Tibet, has been shut down by the Chinese government for alleged copyright infringement, reports Radio Free Asia (RFA) on Monday. The administrator has filed a formal appeal with the authorities to restore it.

DHARAMSALA, 9 March: The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD), a Dharamsala-based Tibetan advocacy group, reported on Monday that a Tibetan monk from Ngaba County in the traditional Tibetan province of Amdo was detained incommunicado by the Chinese authorities on 26 March after staging a lone protest calling for the “Return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet” and “Religious Freedom in Tibet.”

DHARAMSALA 28 March: Gonpo Kyi and Choekyong have filed a lawsuit against the Lhasa police for the mistreatment they suffered when the couple was detained and beaten in December 2023, as reported yesterday by the London-based advocacy group Free Tibet, citing its research partner Tibet Watch.

DHARAMSALA, 15 March: A Tibetan political prisoner named Ludup, 54 years old from Ngaba in the traditional Tibetan province of Amdo was reportedly released from Chinese prison last month after serving a three-and-a-half year prison sentence for his participation in the 2008 Pan Tibetan uprising.
