COVID-19 lockdown: Himachal relaxes curfew for morning-walkers
DHARAMSALA, 26 April: Himachal Pradesh has decided to allow morning workers from Monday in addition to extending the daily curfew relaxation.
Himachal’s Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has announced the decision after chairing a meeting to review the COVID-19 epidemic situation in the state.
“Movement of public on foot for morning walks within localities of residence shall be permissible between 5.30 Am to 7 Am, subject to the condition that wearing of masks shall be mandatory at all times,” read an order issued by the office of District Magistrate, Kangra at Dharamshala.
Further, there would be relaxation in curfew from 8 AM to 12 PM daily throughout the State.
All the “permissible shops” will now be open from 8 AM to 12 PM daily and the movement of the general public for accessing services of these shops are allowed during the curfew relaxation time.
However, the order categorically stressed that only one person from a family shall step out of the house to access essential items and that all such movement shall be on foot with the person wearing mask/face cover.
Meanwhile, authorities have called for self-discipline from the general stressing that lesser restrictions mean more self-discipline.
“Self-discipline and meticulous compliance of all the instructions will be the key to our successful fight against Corona,” The Superintendent of Police, Kangra said in a Facebook post.
The state has reported no fresh COVID-19 case in the last three days.
PTI reported that Himachal has so far reported 41 coronavirus cases and 2 deaths. While 22 patients have recovered, 13 are undergoing treatment.
According to the Union health ministry, India has till date reported 26,917 COVID-19 positive cases that have resulted in 826 deaths while 5,913 people (21.96 per cent) were either cured or discharged.
