Kangra becomes COVID- 19 free
DHARAMSALA, 1 May: Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra District has become coronavirus free with the recovery of the district’s last two remaining COVID-19 patients on Thursday.
Kangra district, where the first two cases in the state surfaced on March 20, has become coronavirus free, The Tribune reported citing a senior health official.
With their recovery, Himachal has now cured 27 COVID-19 patients; twelve from Una district, five each from Solan and Chamba, four from Kangra and one patient from Sirmaur district.
The most populous district of Himachal reported five COVID-19 positive cases until now. Of the lot, four of them have recovered while one died due to the pandemic.
Himachal, a northern Indian state in the Himalayas has so far reported 41 coronavirus cases. It now has only 8 active cases in the state.
The active cases are from Una, Hamirpur, Chamba and Sirmaur districts of the hill state.
Meanwhile, all the 15 samples sent for testing from Kangra district at RPGMC, Tanda tested negative for COVID-19 today
