Dalai Lama calls out China for draconian Zero-Covid Policy in Tibet, says truth will prevail
DHARAMSALA, 4 Oct: China can not change the mind and behaviour of Tibetans, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said as he called out China’s draconian Zero-Covid Policy in Tibet that continues to cause great hardship to the Tibetans inside Tibet.
“While recent reports pointed out that China is causing great suffering and hardship to the Tibetans in the name of containing COVID-19 in Tibet, the Sino-Tibetan conflict is intertwined with Buddhism, and as such China can not change the mind and behaviour of Tibetans”, the Dalai Lama said.
The Dalai Lama said changes are taking place in China and added: “Truth will prevail in the end,” as he urged Tibetans inside Tibet not to lose heart.
Though he is away in exile, the octogenarian Tibetan leader spoke about his deep karmic connection with the Tibetans and further assured Tibetans inside Tibet of his good health.
“Though I am in my eighties, physicians have told me after the medical examination that I will at least live for 15-20 more years. So you can stay at ease”, the Dalai Lama added.
The Tibetan spiritual leader made the remarks today on the second day of his three days of teachings on Chapter 2 of Dharmakirti’s Commentary on Valid Cognition (tsema namdrel) at the Main Tibetan Temple at the request of the Taiwanese devotees.
