Miss Tibet Pageant 2020 cancelled: COVID-19

DHARAMSALA, 31 March: The 2020 Miss Tibet pageant has been cancelled due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Miss Tibet Pageant 2020 has been cancelled due to the global Coronavirus pandemic,” Lobsang Wangyal, the Director of Miss Tibet event announced earlier today in a press statement.

The 15th edition of the Miss Tibet pageant was scheduled to be held over 5-7 June here in picturesque Mcleod Ganj. 

This marks the second straight year the Tibetan beauty pageant has been cancelled. It was cancelled last year with no applicant.

“Applicants have been told to apply again for the 2021 Pageant, which will take place from 4 to 6 June 2021,” Wangyal added.

Wangyal further wished “everybody safe and sound health in these trying times of Coronavirus epidemic.”
