Preksha Rana crowned Miss Himalaya 2017

DHARAMSALA, Oct 9: PrekshaRana from Gaggal was crowned Miss Himalaya 2017 at the grand finale held at Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) in Dharamsala on Oct 8.
After five tightly contested rounds at the two-day competition over Oct 7-8, Preksha Rana 21 was crowned Miss Himalaya Pageant-2017 to a thunderous applause from the audience.
On top of the prized Miss Himalaya crown, Preksha Rana also received a cash prize of one lakh rupees. Tashi Lhamo, the lone Tibetan contestant from Kathmandu and Palak Thakur from Palampur were declared first and second runners-up and received fifty thousand and twenty-five thousand rupees respectively as prize money.
The 5th edition of the Miss Himalaya Pageant had a record nine contestants, the maximum number of contestants since the pageant was started in 2012 by Lobsangwangyal.
