12th General Body Meeting of TWA underway
DHARAMSALA, May 13: The 12th General Body Meeting of Tibetan Women’s Association(TWA) is underway at Sarah College of Higher Tibetan Studies.
Around 192 Tibetan women from the Central and Regional chapters of the Tibetan Women’s Association(TWA) have gathered for the meeting to elect its new Executive members, discuss and lay down plans for its campaigns and projects for the coming years.
Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, former Prime Minister of the Central Tibetan Administration attended the inaugural session of the TWA’s 12th General Body Meeting as the Chief Guest along with the Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile (TPiE) Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, former education minister and TWA advisor Rinchen Khando, TWA and members of the Tibetan parliament.
TWA honoured Tsering Dolkar (Tibetan Mother Teresa) and her sister Lhakpa Dolma for selflessly taking care of all the Tibetan patients who come for treatment at the PGI hospital in Chandigarh.
The 12th General Body Meeting of is being attended by members of 37 different chapters of the TWA over May 11- 16 and the organisation will elect its new executive members on the last day of the meeting.
