DHARAMSALA, 13 November: A three-day Voluntary Tibetan Advocacy Group (V-TAG) India strategy meeting and training was launched today by the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) at Dharamsala. The program will run until 15 November.

DHARAMSALA, 8 Nov: A three-day Permanent Strategy Committee meeting of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) to evaluate the progress of current strategic initiatives and deliberate on future advocacy initiatives began today at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies near Sarah.

DHARAMSALA, 7 November: The Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, expressed his heartfelt condolences and extended prayers to those affected by the recent 6.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Western Nepal late last Friday.

DHARAMSALA, 4 Nov: Sikyong Penpa Tsering, the political head of the Central Tibetan Administration, and Dr Poonam Smith Sreen, Deputy Director of the General Development Office of USAID, launched the program “Strengthening Cultural Resilience of Tibetan Communities” at the Kashag Secretariat in the Central Tibetan Secretariat on Friday.

DHARAMSALA, 31 Oct: Drawupon Rinchen Tsering, the last surviving member of the inaugural Tibetan legislative body, passed away on the evening of 27 October at the Dekyiling Tibetan settlement in Dehradun. He was 93 years old. 

DHARAMSALA, 31 Oct: The US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues, Ms Uzra Zeya, has called for the immediate release of a prominent Tibetan monk-writer from Kirti Monastery, Go Sherab Gyatso, who has been imprisoned by Chinese authorities for over three years. 

The Tibetan Centre for Conflict Resolution (TCCR) hosted a Round Table Discussion here in Mcleod Ganj on Thursday to address the challenges that Dharamsala is grappling with, which affect both the residents and visitors of this picturesque hill town known for its natural beauty and as the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

DHARAMSALA, 25 Oct: The year 2025 will be celebrated as the “Year of Peace” in honour of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s life and legacy, as he turns 90 on July 6, 2025. Penpa Tsering, the President (Sikyong) of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), made the announcement last Saturday during a meeting held in the US for the Tibetan community in New York and New Jersey, as reported by tibet.net, the official website of CTA.

DHARAMSALA, 24 Oct: The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD), in commemoration of the 78th United Nations (UN) Day today, released a Tibetan guidebook, ‘Engaging with the Special Procedures’ a booklet introducing one of the most significant human rights mechanisms: the Special Procedures, highlighting its significance, workings and relevance to Tibet’s struggle.
