Religion and Culture Kalon to take charge of Department of Education as well

DHARAMSALA, Dec 30: Central Tibetan Administration’s (CTA) Religion and Culture Kalon (Minister) Ven. Karma Gelek Yuthok will take charge of the Department of Education as well from Jan 1, 2018, according to a Circular issued by the Kashag(Cabinet) Secretariat on Dec 29.

The Kashag cited growing trust deficit, underperformance and insubordination as the key reasons and announced its decision to appoint Kalon Ngodup Tsering to replace Penpa Tsering from the CTA’s mission in North America earlier on Nov 7.

Since Kalon Ngodup Tsering formally took charge as the new Representative of CTA’s mission in North America from December 1, he will relieve his responsibilities as Kalon of Education Department from January 1, 2018, the circular stated.
