Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel to visit Bomdila, Tumlang in northeast India

DHARAMSALA, 31 Oct: Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, the Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, is scheduled to visit Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tumlang, North Sikkim, in the northeastern part of India in November.
The Speaker will visit Bomdila from 1-6 November, where he will attend the consecration ceremony of Thubchog Gatsel Ling Monastery’s new assembly hall on November 4, according to tibet.net, the official website of the Central Tibetan Administration.
The itinerary includes a visit to Tumlang from 9-12 November, where he will participate in the inauguration of the Ogyen Mindrolling temple, Palri Pema Öd Kyi Phodrang, which will feature Ghanchakra on 10 November and Tshe-Chun Cham on 11 November.
Khenpo Sonam Tenphel will depart from Dharamsala for Delhi on 1 November. After a one-day stopover in Delhi, he will proceed to Guwahati en route to Bomdila. There, he will attend a ceremonial event on 4 November and return to Delhi on 6 November for two days of official engagements.
Subsequently, the Speaker will travel to Sikkim on 9 November to attend a ceremonial event over the next two days before returning on 12 November.
This trip follows his recent visit to Ravangla, South Sikkim, on 17 October 2024, where he joined a Tibetan Parliament-in-exile delegation to commemorate the 600th birth anniversary of the revered Great Drung Goshri Paljor Dondup.
