50 TYC activists arrested for storming Chinese Embassy in Delhi

DHARAMSALA, Oct 18: Around 50 activists from Rohini Chapter of Tibetan Youth Congress, including FIVE executive members of Tibetan Youth Congress, were arrested by Delhi police for protesting at the Chinese Embassy in Delhi to highlight the issue of Tibet earlier this morning.
As China’s 19th Communist Party Congress began today, activists from the Tibetan Youth Congress are holding protests all over the world. The arrested activists from the TYC are said to have stormed the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi before they were arrested by the police.
“A total of 50 activists from Tibetan Youth Congress, mainly from Rohini Chapter along with several TYC Central Executives – President Tenzing Jigme, Vice President Tamdin Hrichoe, Joint Secretary Ngawang Lobsang, Culture Secretary Tashi Dhondup and Social Service Secretary Tashi Dhargyal – were arrested for protesting at Chinese embassy in New Delhi,” said Tashi Lamsang, General Secretary of TYC Central Executive Committee.
Earlier on Oct 17, the Tibetan Youth Congress stated in a press release that they will be organizing protests globally to call on Xi Jinping to end the illegal occupation of Tibet and heed to the voices of Tibetans inside Tibet who are calling for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama back to Tibet.
