Dalai Lama to confer teaching from Tsuglakhang on Chotrul Duchen, first since COVID outbreak
DHARAMSALA, 16 March: His Holiness the Dalai Lama to confer teaching from Tsuglakhang on the occasion of Chotrul Duchen from Tsug-lag-Khang, the main temple in Mcleod Ganj on Friday.
The private office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama has announced that the Tibetan spiritual leader will conduct a short teaching from the Jataka Tales followed by the Ceremony for Generating Bodhichitta (semkye) at the Main Tibetan Temple on Chotrul Duchen- – the full moon day that marks the end of the 15 Days of Miracles.
Though the teaching that will begin from “approximately 8 am” does not require registration, devotes are urged to be seated half an hour earlier.
The office has further urged the devotees “who wish to attend the teachings in person to wear face masks”.
While the translation of the teachings is available in English, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Mongolian, Russian and Vietnamese and devotees are allowed to carry radios, the office has however added that mobiles, cameras and recorders are not allowed.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dalai Lama has resorted to conducting teachings virtually and this will be the first teaching at the Tsug-lag-Khang by the Tibetan spiritual leader in the last two years.
The main temple of the Dalai Lama was reopened on 3 March, the first day of the Tibetan New Year(Losar) after it was closed nearly two years ago due to the raging COCVID-19 pandemic.
