Tibetan Youth Tenshug: Global Tibetan Youth to Offer Long-Life Prayer for Dalai Lama on September 10

DHARAMSALA, 26 March: Tibetan youth from around the world will collectively offer a long-life prayer offering (Tenshug) to His Holiness the Dalai Lama later this year in September, Tibetan Youth Tenshug(TYT) has announced.

“To express appreciation for His Holiness’ teachings and leadership, to pray for his long life, and to commit to working toward the fulfilment of His Holiness’ vision,” we will offer a tenshug to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 10 September 2025, TYT, an independent organising committee has announced on Monday.

The organisation has stated that the combination of youth community leaders and individuals representing a cross-section of our diverse Tibetan youth population reflects its diversity.

“In our diversity, we are not politically or regionally aligned or motivated,” TYT maintains on its website.

The logo of TYT, consisting of the white black-necked crane with striking blue and red lines in the bird’s wings, designed by  v3creation,  “symbolises the Dalai Lama’s  vision,

aspirations for peace, wisdom and connectivity throughout the boundless skies.”

TYT, a project announced on 20th February, is open to all Tibetan youth (lay and monastic) between the ages of 18 and 45, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs. It currently has 13 core committee members.

The Tibetan Nobel Laureate, who will turn 90 on 6 July 2025, has previously spoken multiple times about his recurring dreams which indicated that he will live for at least 113 years.

Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, has already surpassed the first Dalai Lama, Gedun Drupa, the longest-lived Dalai Lama. The first Dalai Lama lived till 83 years of age(1391- 1474).
