I have recovered well, feeling almost normal, the Dalai Lama reassures public after being discharged from hospital

DHARAMSALA, 12 April: His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been discharged from the Max Super Specialty hospital in Saket, South Delhi where he was admitted with ‘minor’ chest infection earlier this week on Tuesday.

The Dalai Lama was discharged from the hospital at 8 o’clock in the morning and he is doing very well now, his personal secretary Tenzin Taklha has said earlier this morning, while he has said a day earlier that the Tibetan spiritual leader was already back to his “normal routine” and doing some exercise.

The 83-year old Tibetan spiritual leader has assured the public of his well being as he spoke after he was discharged from the hospital and thanked Tibetans both inside and outside Tibet, as well as his, his devotes and well-wishers from across the world for their sincere prayers for his recovery.

“I would like to thank everyone for their concern and sincere prayers for my well being and quick recovery,” the Dalai Lama said as he left the hospital where he was admitted on Tuesday after he flew from Dharamsala with a ‘minor’ chest infection.

The Dalai Lama further assured the public that as the doctors have identified the complications (minor chest infection) and were treated accordingly, he said and added that  “he has recovered well and now feels normal, almost normal.”

It is understood that the Tibetan Nobel Laureate would likely remain in New Delhi for several days now before returning to Dharamshala- his exile headquarter.
