Memorial service held for journalist-activist Tsewang Norbu in Dharamsala

DHARAMSALA, Nov 5: A memorial gathering was held in honour of the late Tsewang Norbu, an activist and a journalist on Monday night at Hotel Club house here in Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala.

The gathering was organized by friends of the late activist and journalist as two of his four sisters and wife were visiting the town.

The gathering was attended by Deputy Speaker Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, MP Monlam Tharchin and Lobsang Yeshi, Scholar Tashi Tsering, writer-activist Lhasang Tsering and representatives of various NGOs.

Tsewang Norbu passed away in Berlin, Germany earlier this year on August 16. He did his schooling from Central School for Tibetans, Mussoorie after arriving in exile at a very young age. Later, he completed his BA honours degree from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.

The activist sought support for the Tibetan movement, organised and took part in numerous rangzen (Tibetan independence) movements throughout his life.
