BOOK ON TIBET WHICH BEATS CHINA’S INFORMATION FIRE WALLS LAUNCHED AT TIBET FESTIVAL

New Delhi – 3 Sept: Mr. Penpa Tsering, Tibet’s elected ‘Sikyong’ (President), today released a book which is focused at exposing China’s activities to maintain its colonial grip over Tibet. Titled ‘China’s Colonial Games in Tibet’, the book is published by the Centre for Himalayan Asia Studies and Engagement (CHASE), and is edited by Vijay Kranti, a veteran journalist, Tibetologist and photographer.  The book was inaugurated on the opening day of the three-day Tibet-festival ‘Spirit of Tibet’ at the Indian International Centre of capital today. Other dignitaries, present on the stage were Mr. Nitin A. Gokhale, Prof. C. Raja Mohan and Brigadier Anshuman Narang – all three well known experts on China and strategic affairs.

In addition of a wide range of seminars and film screenings  on Tibet, a major attraction of this festival is live demonstrations of all major spiritual and secular fine arts and crafts of Tibet as well as colourful dances and costumes from the ‘Roof of the World’. A wide range of films on Tibet and His Holiness Dalai Lama are yet another attraction of the festival.

Vijay Kranti is an Indian journalist and a veteran Tibetologist who has been associated with reputed media groups like India Today, German Radio Deutsche Welle, Radio Voice of America, BBC, TV Today Network, Zee News and DD News for over 50 years. Since 1972 he has put over half a century of his professional life in understanding and combating the mammoth propaganda machine of China. His latest book “China’s Colonial Games in Tibet” is a masterpiece of this art. This 486-page book has 60 essays by 39 domain experts from across the world and covers almost every aspect of how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is maintaining its grip over its Tibetan subjects and Tibet. For that reason this is the first book of its kind which presents the Tibetan perspective on all major issues facing Tibet as an occupied colony of China.

This book is based on a long chain of international webinars which Kranti organized and moderated over a period of three years on various aspects of China’s attempts of keeping control over Tibet. The focus of these webinars was on bringing some of the best informed experts from across the globe on a common platform to inform the world about the real situation inside Tibet which the Beijing government has been successfully hiding from the international community. These experts include some formidable names like Prof. Robert Destro (Assistant Secretary of State in the US President Donald Trump’s first Government); Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche (elected ‘Kalon Tripa’ i.e. Prime Minister in Dalai Lama’s Central Tibetan Administration); Mr. Penpa Tsering (present elected ‘Sikyong’ i.e. President of Dalai Lama’s Central Tibetan Administration); reputed international law scholar Prof. Michael Van Walt Van Praag; and known China-Tibet experts like Jayadeva Ranade, Claude Arpri, Pierre Antoine Donnet and Vijay Kranti himself.

This book’s 60 essays have been planned logically to make it an easy reading for its readers. These essays have been divided into 12 sections, each dealing with one specific subject. For example, there are background chapters on the history of Tibet and the institution of the Dalai Lama which logically argue the independent status of Tibet in the history and Tibet’s relations in Asia, especially with the Mongols and Manchu kings of China. Some other chapters go deep into the history of Tibetan tradition of reincarnation and explain how the present Beijing rulers have created and implemented new laws which are aimed at giving control of the entire religious process of searching, identifying and physical control of the new incarnation babies of deceased senior Lamas like the Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama into the hands of CCP and its functionaries.

A good numbers of chapters deal with different dimensions of the systematic ‘Cultural Genocide’ which is going on in today’s Tibet with the aim of implementing President Xi Jinping’s signature concept of ‘Ethnic Unity and Progress Promotion’ among the Tibetan, Uyghur, Mongol and other ‘minority’ nationalities.  Four chapters go into details of how President Xi Jinping’s residential school campaign is aimed at brainwashing and de-Tibetanizing the present generation of Tibetan children so that by the time they grow up as adults in these schools, they would remain Tibetan only in looks but are ‘patriotic’ communist Hans in their thinking and conduct. Similarly there are three chapters dealing with the current pathetic human rights situation of Tibetan women; seven chapters are related to the onslaught over Tibet’s already fragile environment; and six chapters explain how Xi used COVID-19 situation to further increase his grip over the CCP and China’s colonies.

However, the most heart rendering section of this book is the four-chapter-section which gives bare details of how an inhuman business racket of harvesting human organs from China’s colonized and incarcerated populations, especially the Falun Fang practitioners, Uyghur of Xinjiang and Tibetans is thriving under direct protection of Communist leaders, PLA officials, police and corrupt officials. It also explains how a DNA profiling campaign is being run among the Tibetan population to and maintain a database of ‘suitable’ persons who can be picked up anytime for organ harvesting in the event of a war or just to carry on the routine business which offers ‘Halal’ heart, liver, kidney and spleen transplant to rich customers from Middle East, Europe or any other part of the world at as short notice as three or four days.

All this makes this book a good reference source for researchers, media persons, China-experts, diplomats, opinion leaders and Tibet supporters.
