DHARAMSALA, 11 Sept: Thupten Chonyi, a Tibetan Independence (Rangzen) activist, marked the sixth month of his one-year solo protest against China’s occupation of Tibet in front of Philadelphia’s Independence Hall in the US. Chonyi commenced his protest on March 10 this year, with plans to conclude it on March 10 next year, committing to a one-year protest advocating for Tibet’s independence and raising awareness of Tibet’s independent past.

DHARAMSALA, 8 Sept: Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC), the largest Tibetan non-governmental organisation in exile, staged a protest against the participation of Chinese delegates in the summit, today in Majnuka Tila, New Delhi as the G20 Summit awaits commencement tomorrow.

DHARAMSALA, 7 Sept: The Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Dolma Tsering Teykhang, attended the third Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) Prague Summit 2023, which occurred from September 1st to 2nd at the Czech Chamber of Deputies and Senate buildings in Prague, Czech Republic. According to a report on Tibet.net, the official webpage of the Central Tibetan Administration, this summit convened 50 legislators from 30 countries. Notably, three new countries, the Philippines, Kenya, and Paraguay, became part of the IPAC network during the summit.

DHARAMSALA, 6 Sept: The speech by the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, at the “China in Global Economy and its Impact in Nepal” conference on Saturday in Nepal has provoked concerns and protests among Nepalis. According to a report in The Kathmandu Post today, the address has raised alarm due to what former Nepali Ambassador to Denmark, Bijay Kant Karna, describes as China’s “hawkish and aggressive behaviour in Nepal.”

China has recently unveiled its new “standard map” for 2023, incorporating the territories of nearby countries as its own. This action leaves little room for doubt about China’s territorial ambitions. On the contrary, it reinforces the widespread belief that the current leadership in China is resolute in pursuing its territorial expansion plans. China makes no attempt to veil its intentions, having clearly announced them to neighbouring and nearby countries.
