China conducts joint military drill in Lhasa
DHARAMSALA, Mar 15: Chinese police, paramilitary forces and fire department conducted large-scale joint exercises in Lhasa, Tibet’s regional capital on Mar 9 and in the evening of Mar 13, according to a blog post in Chinese by Beijing based Tibetan writer and poet, Woeser.
The so-called “emergency military drills for maintaining stability” involved large number of armed forces, motorcades of armoured vehicles, military trucks and fire engines.
On Lhasa TV, the joint exercise was described as “well prepared”, said Woeser and added that the city claimed by Chinese government as the “happiest city” is now truly “well prepared”.
