DHARAMSALA, 10 March: Today marks sixty-two years since we lost our country and 62 years of Chinese brutality and relentless sufferings inflicted on Tibetans, said the President of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dr Lobsang Sangay.

DHARAMSALA, 10 March: Tibetans and supporters today participated in a public march to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day here in the exile headquarter of the Tibetan people.

Today, the 10th of March 2021, marks the completion of 62 years since the Tibetan people revolted against the brutal imposition of occupation power by the communist Chinese enemy. It was in order to be able to regain our freedom that the Tibetan people staged a mass uprising on that day. Therefore this is a momentous day worthy of being commemorated with the solemnity the occasion deserves. What we all need to remember and, at the same time, bear in mind, is our common knowledge that for thousands of years Tibet as a nation was a self-governing, independent entity from whatever perspective anyone may look at it. This was so in terms of the outer vessel of its geographical configurations that includes its rivers, mountains, rocks, snow mountains that encircle it and so forth.

Sixty-two years ago, on this day, thousands of Tibetans in Lhasa rose in unison to protest against the rule of communist China.  The Central Tibetan Administration remembers and honors the courage and spirit of the martyrs. We remember too, Tibetans in Tibet who remain in the clutches of tyranny. Our prayers and thoughts are with them and we continue to stand in solidarity with them.

DHARAMSALA, 9 March: Campaign groups have called China’s move to name their new naval destroyer after the capital of occupied Tibet, ’Lhasa’ a  ‘disgusting insult’.

DHARAMSALA, 8 March: The Central Tibetan Administration(CTA) today held a prayer service to recall and pay tribute to the peaceful Tibetan demonstrators of the 1989 Uprising in Tibet.

DHARAMSALA, 3 March: Like China, India too should declare Tibet as its core issue, the President of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) Dr Lobsang Sangay has said.
