Tibetan NGOs Unite to Condemn Online Provocateur Targeting Dalai Lama, Calls For Legal Action.

DHARAMSALA, 23 Sept: A group of eight prominent Tibetan non-governmental organisations (NGOs) convened a press conference today at the Tibetan Settlement Office Hall in McLeod Ganj to condemn a recent video and an audio clip that have sparked widespread outrage and concern within the Tibetan community.

Representatives from the NGOs, namely the Tibetan Youth Congress, Central Tibetan Women’s Organisation, National Democratic Party of Tibet, Students for a Free Tibet, Centre for Middle Way Approach, Utsang Cholkha Association, Dotoe Cholkha Association, and Domey Cholkha Association, gathered to voice their strong opposition to the video’s divisive content, reaffirm their unwavering support for the Dalai Lama, and address the growing concerns about the video’s potential to harm the unity and stability of the Tibetans.

Tsering Dolma, the President of the Tibetan Women’s Association, said, “On behalf of eight Tibetan NGOs, I condemn the recent video targeting the Dalai Lama and the CTA.”

“Recently, in Adelaide, a southern region of Australia, a person whose real name is Senge and who goes online by Gangseng (snow lion) has not just excessively defamed His Holiness the Dalai Lama and threatened his life but has also declared the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in exile as an enemy with malicious intent and violent instigation,” read a joint statement issued by the group.

The eight organisations declared him as someone who resorted to destroying Tibetan unity and a “terrorist,” calling on the CTA and other relevant offices of the CTA to take legal action against him, which the group said they would fully support.

The NGOs have further said that they plan to provide evidence of Senge’s threatening activities – the two audio-visual clips – along with his background information to the Indian government and relevant local offices to prevent him from entering India for the security of the Dalai Lama.

Senge’s video, in which he targets the Dalai Lama and the CTA, has been widely denounced as a malicious attempt to undermine the Tibetans’ spiritual and political leadership. The Tibetan lawmakers also condemned him and called for legal measures in the just-concluded 8th session of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile.
